The Felt of the Felt of the Body

The simple process of going deeper into the body lies in the felt of the felt of the body. In this way, from a superficial felt, by feeling it again and again, one reaches a more profound felt, called by Gendlin (1963) the “felt sense.” The felt of the felt of the body constitutes the essence of Focusing.

Therefore, we can summarize that a more direct and rapid access to the more profound felt of the body (the felt sense) may be achieved by pausing, in order to:

"Allow the felt of the felt of the felt… the body, to be.” and,

"Allow for the more profound felt to move at its own rhythm and space.”
